This machine is a professional quality FDM style 3D printer. It has a larger print volume than the Ultimaker and it prints high quality parts in a temperature controlled environment to help eliminate the warping you can get from printing in the open air environment of a desktop 3D printer. In addition to the ABS model filament, the F170 uses a soluble support filament to eliminate sagging and enable fine detail. This support material can be dissolved away from the finished part in the Stratasys Clean Station.
The completion of MACCLab Orientation, Intro to 3D Printing, as well as Stratasys 3D Printing is required to use this machine. Those with previous Stratasys 3D printing experience who believe they are proficient in using this machine can opt for a private proficiency test with a qualified instructor.
The cost of the print is determined by the weight of the material used. Bring your finished print to the sign in desk for weighing and payment.

In MACCLab we print a lot of cool things, but what 3D printers do best, is problem solve. Missing a piece? Need a different connector? Print it. Learn something new in 2022 with Intro to 3D Printing this Saturday at 10am. Follow the link to sign up.
