This 16 needle embroidery machine is fully computerized to transfer almost any design from digital vector to an embroidery pattern. With a hooping and clamping system to hold the fabric taut it makes it easy to create customized products for yourself or for sale.
MACCLab Orientation and the completion of Intro to Machine Embroidery is required to use this machine. Those with previous machine embroidery experience who believe they are proficient in using this machine can opt for a private proficiency test with a qualified instructor.

This project combines many areas of textile arts; sewing, quilting, and machine embroidery. This in the hoop project pattern was purchased from SweetPea Embroidery and customized by our Makerspace Director to show her favorite books, hobbies, and of course our honorary mascot, Ginger. Interested in learning how it was done? Maggie would gladly talk to you about all the skills and planning that went into this project.

This cute quilt was made entirely in MACCLab. The trucks were appliquéd and embroidered using the Melco Bravo embroidery machine. A template to perfectly cut and align the squares was made using the ULS laser cutter. The squares were assembled and trim added using the Singer Heavy Duty sewing machines. Then the quilt top, batting, and backing was loaded onto the Handi Quilter Simply Sixteen to add this fun cloud and swirl free motion design. We’re so pleased with how it turned out.
Interested in learning any or all of these machines to help with your own custom projects? Visit https://macclab.com/event/ for the full October schedule. November and December will be added later this week.

The best thing about working in a makerspace is collaboration! These quilt blocks were sewn using the Singer sewing machines, the appliqués were done using the Melco Bravo embroidery machine, and the block template was scored and cut on the Universal Laser cutter/engraver. We’re so excited to see these 12 blocks of seasonal vintage trucks come together in a unique quilt that will be finished using the HandiQuilter longarm quilting machine.
